Format Characters

The appearance of your documents helps to convey their message. By using Word, you can develop professional-looking documents whose appearance is appropriate to their contents. You can easily format your text so that key points stand out and your arguments are easy to grasp.

When you type text in a document, it is displayed in a particular font. Each font consists of alphabetic characters, numbers, and symbols that share a common design.

You can see samples of all the fonts installed on your Mac, in the Font Book.

Tip

You can open the Font Book from the /Applications/ folder.
