Chapter 5. Adding Graphics

In this chapter, you’ll learn about the many ways you can add and edit graphics in your Word documents:

  • You can choose an image from the included clip art collection.

  • You can insert images from your hard disk, such as scans, digital photos, or pictures you’ve downloaded or received in email.

  • You can insert pictures from iPhoto.

  • You can add predefined shapes called AutoShapes.

  • You can add artistic text called WordArt to your documents.

  • You can insert formatted, artistic bullet points and relationship illustrations called SmartArt layouts (see Chapter 17).

  • You can add Excel charts and graphs to your reports (see Chapters 13, 18, and 29).
