Favorites Service

The Favorites Service is an XML Web service created by the MSDN architecture team. It enables users to save a server-side list of Web links (or favorites) that can be accessed from any computer. The Favorites Service was first built using the previous generation of Microsoft technologies—Visual Studio 6—and you can download the original Favorites Service code from http://msdn.microsoft.com/code/sample.asp?url=/msdn-files/026/002/332/MsdnCompositeDoc.xml. Far more useful is the series of architectural white papers about the process of designing the Favorites Service. These papers discuss key basics for caching and implementing security with XML Web services; you can read them online on MSDN at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dncold/html/ssf1over.asp ...
