Summary

In this chapter, we looked into how Windows Forms operates in the .NET Compact Framework and highlighted some of the key differences from the full .NET Framework. We described all of the standard controls in the .NET Compact Framework and showed how to use them in an application. Third-party control vendors have many other controls available that you can purchase for use in your applications.

In the next chapter, we will look at some additional factors you must consider when designing a GUI application, such as how to ensure that your application runs correctly on a Pocket PC and conforms to the expected behavior on that platform.
