Summary

This chapter discusses how 3-D graphics can be implemented on a Windows Mobile 5.0–powered device using Direct3D. We walk you through creating a display device and using this to draw simple two-dimensional shapes with textures on them. Then we move into three dimensions and discuss rendering shapes in three dimensions. We also discuss matrices and how these can be used to specify the position, orientation, and size of items drawn in three dimensions. Finally, you perform some animation and lighting and look at issues that affect the use of 3-D graphics on the mobile platform.
