Storage Recommendations
Disk recommendations for physical servers include using eight or more 10,000 RPM hard disk drives with at least 72GB free disk space, or solid-state drives (SSDs) that provide performance similar to eight 10,000 RPM mechanical disk drives. You are looking to replicate this level of performance, but remember that this is the performance specified per server; so if your host server has four Lync Server virtual machines on, your storage needs to provide this level of performance per virtual machine to reach the suggested user numbers. Capacity sizing recommendations are as per physical deployments.
