Exchange 2013 Autodiscover Configuration
An initial prerequisite that must be met to allow integration between Lync, Exchange, and SharePoint is the configuration of the Exchange 2013 Autodiscover service. The Exchange 2013 Autodiscover service is used by both Lync and SharePoint to find and read the Exchange authentication metadata document; therefore, Autodiscover must be configured and operational before these applications are configured as partner applications for Exchange. In mixed Exchange environments that include both Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013, Lync and SharePoint should be configured to connect to the Exchange 2013 Autodiscover service.
