Trusted Applications

Integration with a signaling gateway is achieved by first defining the third-party systems as trusted applications within the Lync Topology. The definition as a trusted application is what allows the Lync systems to establish a connection to other servers or endpoints that are not actually Lync systems.

Before a trusted application can be created, administrators must first define a trusted application pool in the topology. After the trusted application pool is created, the trusted application representing the third-party system can be created.
