Service Codes

The E.164 format is intended to provide a standard for calls between multiple countries, but each country will usually have its own form of service codes such as directory assistance, emergency services, or automated systems that simply speak the date and time. These systems are not dialed internationally, but still need support within Lync for users within those regions. It is acceptable for these services to provide only normalization rules that simply prepend a + sign and no additional information. For example, dial plans within the United States will have a normalization rule that looks for any digit in the range 2 through 9 followed by two 1s, and prepends only the + sign.
