As with any migration, there’s a lot that can go wrong regardless of how well you’ve planned. The biggest item to check is ensuring that Active Directory is healthy and functioning properly. A close second is ensuring that all the required manual DNS changes have been made and that DNS is working flawlessly. Of course, there are the firewall ACLs that need to be in place for the new Lync Server 2013 Edge Server as well. The added convenience of the Deployment Wizard doesn’t lessen the importance of certificates. They are still core to all server and server-client communications.
