Persistent Chat
Persistent Chat is a Lync feature that allows users to create chat rooms that contain persistent conversations based on specific topics and categories. In contrast, a Lync IM conversation between three or more users is considered an IM conference, however when all parties leave the conversation, the content of that conversation cannot be retrieved or reviewed. With Persistent Chat, conversations remain even after all users involved in a conversation leave the chat room. The persistent nature of the messages allows Lync users to view ongoing conversations at their leisure, and also search for information within the chat rooms.
