Lync Silverlight Client

Lync Server 2010 offers a web-based client that is based on Microsoft’s Silverlight technology. It’s capable of running from any operating system and browser that runs Silverlight. By simply pointing a web browser at the URL sent in a meeting invite with a Lync meeting attached, users are able to connect.

When initially connecting, the browser might warn users that JavaScript is not enabled. If they have an installed “full” client, they can click a link to use that instead. Otherwise, they’ll need to have JavaScript enabled. Often this is as simple as placing the Lync Server URL into the Trusted Sites or altering the security settings in the browser.
