Administration Overview

The life of a Lync Server administrator varies depending on the role within the organization, and this is where Lync Server 2010 shines over previous versions. Instead of resorting to a complex and difficult management console or Visual Basic script files, there is now an improved user interface backed by a management shell based on Windows PowerShell just as in Exchange Server since 2007. Combined with the new role-based access control, administrators can tackle delegated specific tasks either in the Lync Server Control Panel or leverage the Lync Server Management Shell command-line interface.
