Improved Phone Experience
The new Lync client provides more PBX-like functions and productivity features. For example, the client UI now includes a tally of the number of voice mail messages and missed calls for the user. A new Phone tab offers a list of the voice mails and call logs and even gives the user an on-screen dial pad.
Support for a new generation of Lync Server–compliant phones gives users greater choices in endpoints and supports a much greater number of conference-style phones. The party continues to grow in terms of available hardware for Lync Server and includes many phones that are reasonably priced compared to previous generation offerings.
