Call Parking and Other PBX Features

Call parking is the capability to place a call on hold from one endpoint and then retrieve the call from a different endpoint. This is useful in locations where a large number of people share a relatively small number of phones.

Imagine a situation in which a reception person receives a call for a given employee and is able to park the call on an “extension” and announce to the employee that a call is waiting on that particular extension. Administrators can control behavior such as how long a call can be parked before it returns to the original target.
