The Competition
Lync Server obviously isn’t the only game in town when it comes to integrated IM, A/V conferencing, and enterprise voice capabilities. Lync Server has its work cut out for it to keep up with or pass the competition. Other players in this space include
• Cisco CUCM, Cisco CUPS, and Cisco Unity
• IBM SameTime
• Avaya Aura
• Siemens Open Scape
Although many of these companies offer similar functionality, none achieve the level of integration with Microsoft applications and infrastructure services than Lync Server does.
