Over-committing CPU resources can adversely affect all workloads on the same host server, causing significant performance issues for a large number of users. Because CPU resource usage patterns can vary significantly, no single metric or unit can quantify total resource requirements. One approach, however, is to collect CPU requirement specifications for particular applications and workloads. Table 3 provides the Performance Monitor counter to collect over time.
