Option 1: Full Installation
The full, traditional installation of Windows Server 2008 offers all services and features available for installation and configuration. Points to consider when evaluating applications for full installation are:
Microsoft .NET support. Applications that require any form of Microsoft .NET support require the full installation option. Refer to the application inventory to determine which applications require Microsoft .NET.
GUI desktop. The full installation of Windows Server 2008 includes the Windows® GUI. Personnel administering the server locally may find the GUI easier to use than non-GUI versions.
