Task 2: Determine Installation Mode

At this point, the organization must decide how to install Windows Server 2008 to support IIS 7.0 and the given application inventory. Windows Server 2008 supports two installation modes for each platform edition. The first is the traditional full installation of the Windows Server 2008 operating system, which offers the familiar look and feel of previous versions of Windows Server. The second is the Server Core installation option, a compact version that does not use a graphical user interface (GUI) but supports several server roles, including IIS 7.0.
