Initial integration steps

Before you can begin integrating specific features in Exchange 2013 with Lync 2013, or vice versa, you have to take a few steps to prepare the Exchange servers.

Installing prerequisites on Exchange servers

The first step to integrating Lync and Exchange is to verify that you have all the required prerequisite software bits on your Exchange servers. Exchange 2013 already requires the UCMA 4.0 runtime on both CAS and Mailbox servers.
