The following are best practices from this chapter:

  • When choosing a client configuration for Exchange, an organization should evaluate the different solutions available for non-Windows client connectivity.

  • Outlook 2001 for the Macintosh will run on OS9 as well as OS X; however, on OS X, the Outlook client runs in OS9 emulation mode, so OS X users might consider using Entourage X or the Remote Desktop Connection client for access.

  • To achieve the full Outlook functionality of Windows users, a non-Windows client might consider using a Terminal Services session, which provides full support for the full Windows client that is identical to the one Windows users access.
