Coexistence with Exchange 5.5

If your environment already has one or more Exchange 5.5 computers (running on Windows NT and/or Windows 2000), and you have not yet connected Exchange and Active Directory, then this deployment process is designed for you. This process consists of three phases.

  1. Planning: During phase 1, you will ensure that you meet the Exchange 5.5 coexistence prerequisites, verify operating system and Active Directory requirements, determine the best location for the new Exchange 2003 server, install required Windows components, and run diagnostic checks on your domain controller(s) and the network configuration.
