The Preferences Dialog

Microsoft Excel's Preferences dialog offers nine categories of options that you can set to customize the way Excel works for you:

  • View preferences control Excel's on-screen appearance.

  • Save preferences enable you to set Auto-Recover options.

  • Calculation preferences control the way Excel calculates formulas.

  • Edit preferences control editing.

  • General preferences control general Excel operations.

  • Transition preferences control options for Excel users who also work with other spreadsheet programs.

  • Custom Lists preferences enable you to create or modify series lists.

  • Chart preferences control the active chart and chart tips.

  • Color preferences control standard, chart fill, and chart line colors.
