Pi (π) ist die sog. Kreiszahl. Sie beschreibt das Verhältnis des Umfangs u eines Kreises zu seinem Durchmesser (d) bzw. Radius (r):
d · π = u
oder
2r · π = u
π ist eine unendliche Zahl, die nur annähernd bestimmt werden kann. Excel rechnet mit 15 Nachkommastellen. Gerundet auf 100 Nachkommastellen hat π folgenden Wert:
