Array Formulas

To understand array formulas, take a look at the functionality of a standard single-value formula. A single-value formula generates a result from several operands. For example, the formula =A4*B4 generates the product of both cells (see Figure 3-15). Compare this with the array formula {=E4:E8*F4:F8}. This formula generates five results—in this case, the product of the cells to the left and right of the multiplication sign.
