Default Solution
The system solution, or layer, is the default or base solution that defines the default application behavior. It is the components from the system layer that are used within managed and unmanaged solutions, and it is possible to customize the system layer. In addition, it is possible to export the system layer and import it into other organizations.
Caution
You cannot export the system layer in a managed type—only in an unmanaged type. This will effect the way solutions are applied to other applications (see the “Solution Layers” section later in this chapter), but the main thing to be aware of is that it cannot be rolled back easily after it has been installed into another application.
