Unmanaged Solutions

Unmanaged solutions are customizations made to the application that allow for additional editing, viewing, or exporting.

It is easiest to think of unmanaged solutions as a group of customizations. And the best feature of solutions is that we can logically group customizations (in both managed and unmanaged states). Versions of CRM prior to 2011 allowed only for mass merged and unmanaged customizations with no visibility to grouping.

The steps for creating an unmanaged solution are the same as previously explained for managed solutions, except that the option for Unmanaged is selected instead of Managed.
