Working with the SDK

The SDK is a compound of help files, documentation, binary tools, and code samples that gives developers the capability to extend and understand advanced Microsoft Dynamics CRM customizations. By advanced customizations, we refer to all customizations that can’t be done through the standard CRM UIs, such as the ones you saw earlier in this chapter. To develop these advanced customizations, you need a tool such as Visual Studio 2012, along with a solid knowledge and understanding of .NET development and programming in languages such as C# or VB .NET and JavaScript.

The SDK does not usually come with the product media, so you must download it from Microsoft. You can find it by searching for “CRM 2013 SDK” at Microsoft.com ...
