Tables

The Tables node under the Data Dictionary in the AOT corresponds to tables in the database. When a table is created in the AOT it is automatically synchronized down to the SQL server. The synchronization process runs scripts in the background to make sure that the SQL table is created or updated to reflect the table in the AOT.

Note

A table in AX should always be created from the AOT, never by running an SQL script or by creating a new table using the SQL Server Management Studio. AX also creates additional system fields in the tables and keeps references to the tables and its fields in system tables.
