Criteria

In the grid area, you can use the Criteria or Or columns to define constraints on data selection. After you make entries in these columns, the view’s SQL text displays the WHERE condition. Chapter 9, “Transact-SQL,” provides a detailed description of all the options for WHERE conditions. In this section we briefly introduce their use in the query designer.

To specify criteria, you must take into account the data type of the field that you want to filter with criteria. Table 7-2 lists special features and displays in the query designer.
