Data Backup Functions

When performing a backup, you can apply the corresponding functions for Access projects, SQL Server Enterprise Manager, SQL, or the Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO) library.

To perform any data backup or restore functions, you must be a member of the database roles db_owner or db_backupoperator for the database that you want to back up or restore.

Backing Up in Access Projects

To create a data backup, select Tools, then Database Utilities, then Backup SQL Database (see Figure 21-1).
