The first goal for a software developer is to achieve proficiency in any programming language or paradigm. Achieving a good level of proficiency is not easy, and some languages may have a steeper learning curve than others.
Problems arise when proficiency in a language ends up creating a comfort zone from which a developer or team finds it difficult to leave. In contrast, a myth must be overthrown: that one programming language is much easier than the other.
