Just as I was finishing writing this book, I presented my program to a company in northern California. Afterward, the senior manager, Eduardo Salaz, who had coordinated the seminar for Intuit, presented me with a Talking Stick. The Talking Stick is a carved piece of wood that is decorated, often with feathers, beads, and leather. It is a sacred object that has been part of indigenous cultural tradition for centuries.
