8.8. WRITING POWERFUL, APPRECIATIVE QUESTIONS

To make a lasting impact, the questions you ask must be both powerful and appreciative. Refer to Table 2 for a summary of the following guidelines and tips for writing powerful, appreciative questions.

Powerful Questions. The question from the HP example at the beginning of this article, "How can HP Labs be the best industrial research lab for the world?" is an optimum example of a powerful question. A powerful question is hard to describe, but you know immediately when you hear one.
