There seems to be a disparity between where we are placing our emphasis today and where we need to be heading. All too frequently, people in our industry are distracted by using technology for the sake of using technology instead of focusing on what actually improves the effectiveness of learning. Some revealing catch phrases are:

1. "My Learning": This is a concept and phrase that has come from a number of other industries such as My Yahoo and My SAP. When applied to learning it took on a new meaning based on the individual.
