2.3. LEARNING FROM OTHER INDUSTRIES

Theatrical movies have migrated through a series of technologies. The migration can be compared loosely to e-learning in many ways and shares many of the same distribution, copyright, and sales issues. The only place to see a movie used to be in the theater. This is analogous to our mainframe and/or classroom era. In both cases, the audience was forced to go to a particular location, which had an enormous infrastructure investment to support the event.
