8.2. AN APPRECIATIVE APPROACH

Appreciative Inquiry (AI) questioning works in much the same way. AI has been described as "an exciting way to embrace organizational change" (Cooperrider, Whitney, & Stavros, 2003, pp. xvii–xix). AI works by "identifying what is positive and connecting to it in ways that heighten energy and vision for change" (Cooperrider et al.). Through AI questioning, we discover what we value about the strengths and resources we already have. This allows us to dream of and envision realistic possibilities and design and deliver positive future outcomes.
