Case studies

Introduction

 

Mentoring of senior executives and directors has remained something of a mystery because of the relative lack of thoughtful and considered accounts of the phenomenon. We have addressed this mystery by seeking such accounts from the parties involved. Nearly all the case studies in this part of the book are in the words of the participants. The authors of this book have written some of the cases, often based on long and detailed knowledge of the people involved. Other writers have contributed the remaining cases, which has enlarged the range of the accounts into countries and sectors where we have relatively little experience.
