Use Notification Center

Under older versions of iOS, notifications were a hassle. If an app put up a notice, it appeared as a solitary box, obscuring everything else. In iOS 7, notifications are far more useful. You can read alerts, check your calendar, and access Notification Center even when the iPad is locked, for example.

You can read notifications by doing one of the following:

• Swipe down with one finger from the top of the screen to view Notification Center (Figure 22). The Today screen provides a snapshot of your day and the current weather.
