Robotic surgery and ethical challenges

Abstract:

The various types of surgical robotic systems are reviewed and a range of ethical problems is discussed. Topics include the patient experience of such techniques, how robotic systems are marketed, training and the balance of cost versus access, as well as challenges relating to remote robotic surgery and automated hospitals and applications of specific systems such as da Vinci and RoboDoc.
