Concern is often voiced as to how much control one has over the environment (job, career, life). It is all well and good to want to pursue your purpose and find the right fit in terms of work, but you have to take care of yourself and your family. Bandura (1997) successfully showed that people perceive the world fundamentally differently, according to their level of self-efficacy. People with high self-efficacy are generally of the opinion that they are in control of their own lives, that their own actions and decisions shape their lives.
