We are all stakeholders in numerous organizations, whether as employee, vendor, investor in a mutual fund or a pension fund, board member, or customer. If we are treated as a stakeholder, we are likely to want to remain a stakeholder. If we are treated as a “necessary evil,” then we are likely to go elsewhere. As employees, even in economically hard times, we have choices. There are still job openings; there are still entrepreneurial opportunities, if not today, then tomorrow.
