Ultimately, organizational culture is the primary vehicle for creating an environment of meaningfulness, engagement, and commitment. One environment that has held those values in societies was the community environment, where work, family, friends, and social life were intertwined. Tribes, villages, small towns, and tight-knit neighborhoods have all demonstrated the value of community. The workplace as community can and does exhibit these same values.
