The Elements of a Meaningful Workplace
 
RECENTLY, ORGANIZATIONS have been attempting to attract and retain highly qualified workers in advance of a projected labor shortage and amid increasing global competition. These new employees have expressed a preference to work for socially responsible, ethically driven organizations that allow the whole self to be brought to work. According to the Society for Human Resource Management’s 2008 Workplace Forecast report (SHRM, 2008b), four of the ten key themes identified are:
