Configuring Distributed File System
One problem that we have had as network administrators is deciding how to share folders and communicating to the end users how to find our shares. For example, if you share a folder called Stellacon Documents on server A, how do you make sure that your users will find the folder and files within it? The users have to know the server name and the share name. This can be a huge problem if you have hundreds of shares on multiple servers. If you want to have multiple copies of the folder called Stellacon Documents for fault tolerance and load balancing, the problem becomes even more complicated.
