Installing RRAS

To use RRAS, you need to install the RRAS components on computers running Windows Server 2008 R2, because they’re not installed by default. You can do this through the Server Manager MMC’s Add Roles Wizard. Exercise 14.1 leads you through the process of installing RRAS as a router.

Installing RRAS for IP Routing

1. Open Server Manager by clicking Start ⇒ Administrative Tools ⇒ Server Manager.

2. In the left pane, click Roles. In the right pane, click Add Roles.

3. On the Select Server Roles page, check the Network Policy And Access Service box, and click Next.

4. On the Introduction page, click Next.
