15.1. Reviewing SharePoint Records Management

SharePoint content management functions are handled primarily through a specialized site called the Records Center. You can think of the Records Center as the central repository for all your important corporate data, not just in terms of storage but in terms of total life-cycle management, from creation to versioning to archiving to obsolescence and deletion. The Records Center features that are brought into play to achieve this level of information oversight include Information Management Policy, Records Routing, Hold, Vault, and Record Collection Programmable Interface.
