6.3. Understanding Loopback Processing

When Group Policy is implemented, it's applied based on the design of Active Directory and how Group Policy has been applied within that Active Directory. Using Group Policy loopback processing, administrators are granted a more finite level of control based on the settings of the machine in question, regardless of its place in Active Directory.
