6.5. Planning Group Policy

Since the early days of Windows Group Policy, Microsoft has been very supportive of administrators in defining a set series of procedures that administrators should use when planning and designing Group Policy. Some of the reasons for this include the complicated nature of Group Policy, as well as the necessity to aid administrators in understanding the impact and scope of Group Policy when it is deployed correctly. In the following sections, I will cover the planning and design process recommended by Microsoft for deploying Windows Server Group Policy.
