6.2. Applying Group Policy

A lot of administrators say that the most fun, or at least the most worrying, job in an enterprise is applying Group Policy. To do so safely, an administrator has to understand the impact of each decision. To begin with, you have to understand the order in which Group Policy is implied, which is summarized in Figure 6.1.

The order in which Group Policy is applied is as follows:

  1. Local

  2. Site

  3. Domain

  4. OU
